The thick walls carved with slightly indented corners and a band of seasonal flowers framing a whimsical scene of two scholars enjoying a drink in a boat near a floating restaurant with a banner inscribed Zhi wei ting chuan (Boat for the Savoring Taste Pavilion) where a servant attends another scholar enjoying his wine at a table, the background patterned in long rectangular diapers, the exterior walls filled with a continuous xiangcai band in high relief and the footed base finished in black lacquer. 8in (20.2cm) square
