The jadeite of intense emerald green colour and good translucency, carved as a leaf, to a stylized surmount set with a brilliant-cut diamond and circular-cut diamonds together weighing approximately 1.35 carats, mounted in 18 karat white gold. Leaf approximately 50.08 x 27.95 x 6.95mm. Estimation 11,000,000 — 13,000,000 HKD
Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate numbered KJ 71047, dated 5 March 2012, stating that the jadeite is natural, known in the trade as « A Jade ».
Cicada is regarded as the sacred animal symbol of long life, good luck, happiness and eternal youth due to its intrinsic properties of being the longest living insect. The cicada motif is common in jadeite carvings and the insect is often shown on a leaf or a bamboo, symbolizing the ideal morality of Chinese literati.
