of cartouche form, the lid with the later crowned cypher of Archduchess Maria-Theresia on a sablé ground, within a rose-cut diamond frame, further applied with six large rose-cut diamonds on a sablé ground chased in relief with leafy scrollwork, the sides and base engraved with scrolls and flowers, the interior of the lid inscribed: Maria Theresia, Austrian import mark, the rim numbered: [3] [6] 71? – 8.5cm., 3 3/8 in wide

Notes: The cypher is probably that of Princess Maria Theresia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (1867-1909). She married in 1899 Prince Wilhelm of Hohenzollern (1864-1927).
