A pair of famille verte bowls, 18th century. Estimate £1,000 – 1,500 (€1,300 – 2,000). Photo Bonhams.

Painted and gilt to the exteriors with exotic birds in flight and perched on rockwork in gardens of flowering magnolia, peonies and blossoming prunus, the interiors with central roundels of peonies issuing from rockwork, within floral borders, wood stands. 20.5cm (8.1/8in) diam. 

Provenance: The Everts-Calvocoressi-Comnène Collection of Chinese Art, London; Robert Everts was the Ambassadorial Envoy to Beijing from 1910 to 1916 and again from 1920 to 1924, and thence by descent.
