Blue-and-white moon flask or bianhu, Yongle period (1403 – 1425), Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644). Jingdezhen kilns, porcelain, with underglaze painting in cobalt-blue, 29.5 x 20.5 x 12.5 cm max. (height x width x depth), width and depth at foot 29.5 x 6.5 x 5.5 cm (height x width x depth). Purchased with the assistance of the Art Fund, in honour of Sir Christopher White’s Directorship of the Ashmolean, 1997. Accession no.
