This is a small serving platter for a dollhouse, which was crafted by the Augsburg master Johann Baptist II. Weinold in the period between 1691 and 1695. Johann Baptist II. Weinold became a master in 1664 and he died in 1719. The small serving platter is crafted of silver with a gilded upper side. The flat oval shape is equipped with handles. The center embellishes a small fruit bouquet on pipe work, framed by three rows of lattice-like open-work rosette blossoms. On the narrow sides of the smooth rim are two horizontal handle cloths that are worked of volutes à jour.
The serving platter of gilded silver is punched on the rim with the hallmark Augsburg, the master’s mark Master Johann Baptist II. Weinold and assayer’s marks. The serving platter is in very good condition with minimal traces of age. The dimensions are 17.2 x 10.6 cm. ™
