each of deep ‘U’-shape, painted around the exterior in shades of iron red on the white ground with five bats interspersed among foliate scrolls forming strapwork panels, interlinked by ruyi and surmounted by a peach, all below a garland of pendant pearls and double lines encircling the rim, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark; 12.5 cm., 4 7/8  in.
