each with deep rounded sides surrounding a domed centre corresponding to a recessed base on the underside, resting on a small narrow foot, deftly painted around the exterior with four medallions enclosing leafy peonies reserved in white against a blue foliage, divided by ruyi-shaped scrolls, the interior similarly decorated with a peony medallion, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark in underglaze blue; 14 cm., 5 1/2  in.
