The semi-cylindrical jadeite bangle of brilliant emerald green colour and high translucency, inner diameter approximately 53.8 mm, width approximately 12.3 mm, thickness approximately 9.0 mm

Accompanied by report No. EXKJ3252 dated 18 September 2014 from Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory stating that the bangle is natural jadeite and no polymer is detected

with shallow rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to an everted rim, later enamelled on the interior in iron red and blue with two five-clawed dragons writhing among ruyi-shaped clouds vying for a ‘flaming pearl’, below eight lotus blooms borne on a continuous meandering stem encircling the cavetto, the underside similarly decorated with scrolling lotus, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within a double circle; 25.5 cm., 10 in.

Composed of fifty-seven jadeite beads of brilliant emerald green colour and high translucency, measuring approximately 6.5 to 12.3 mm, alternating with diamond beads, joined to the cabochon ruby and brilliant-cut diamond clasp, mounted in 18k white and yellow gold, 66.0 cm long

Accompanied by report No. KJ87660(1-3) dated 25 september 2014 from Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory stating that the beads are natural jadeite and no polymer is detected

A fine and rare Imperial wucai ‘Immortal’ dish, China, underglaze blue Wanli six-character mark and period. Estimate 10 000 €. Photo Nagel

The dish is enamelled within the central medallion with Shoulao and another immortal descending onto a balustraded garden and a servant, amidst rocks and flowering plants, surrounded on the cavetto with a floral scroll, each flowerhead supporting a Shou character, the exterior with four detached floral sprays. D. 20,7 cm. Few tiny glaze frits to rim, good condition

Property from an important European private collection, bought 1970 or 1971 from Dr. Franzero, London

A very similar dish from the Imperial collection is preserved in the collection of the Palace Museum Beijing and published ‘Porcelain in Polychrome and Contrasting Colours – The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum‘, Hongkong 1999, no. 43

Each set with a thick high-domed jadeite cabochon of very even brilliant emerald green colour and high translucency, to the brilliant-cut diamond gallery, the back enhanced by diamond-set scrolls, mounted in 18k white gold, cabochons approximately 26.41 x 21.81 x 11.08 and 26.40 x 21.92 x 11.61 mm

Accompanied by report No. KJ87412 and KJ87415 dated 3 september 2014 from Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory stating that the cabochons are natural jadeite and no polymer is detected (2)

Of ovoid form, the jar is painted all over with foliate scrolls bearing lotus blossoms, and with a lappet border above the foot and a band of floral sprays on the waisted neck. H. 40,2 cm. Overpainted firing crack at the body

Property form an European private collection

A similar jar, with cover, which is dated c. 1573-1620, is in the British Museum, and illustrated by J. Harrison-Hall in Ming Ceramics, London, 2001, p. 291, no. 11:34. One of three jars, without covers, is illustrated by R. Krahl in Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum Istanbul, vol. II, London, 1986, p. 738, no. 1329

Centring on an oval jadeite cabochon of fine translucency and emerald green colour, surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds extending to the triple-split shoulders together weighing approximately 2.10 carats, mounted in 18 karat pink gold. Ring size: 6. Cabochon approximately 16.09 x 15.16 x 6.12mm.

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate numbered KJ 87900, dated 14 October 2014, stating that the jadeite is natural, known in the trade as « A Jade ».

The translucent jadeite bangle of bright apple green tone with a patch of intense emerald green colour,rounded to the outside and flattened to the inside.  Inner diameter and thickness approximately 59.02 x 20.05mm.

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate numbered KJ 86836, dated 12 August 2014, stating that the jadeite is natural, known in the trade as « A Jade ».

B. 30 cm. Restorations

Provenance: Former old Japanese private collection

Boxes decorated with dragons were made in various shapes and sizes during the Wanli period, some in specifically conceived utilitarian shapes, such as the long rectangular examples used to hold fans, and others such as the present piece which may have been used as a container for a gift of sweetmeats

Cf. Catalogue of Tokyo National Museum. Chinese Ceramics, vol. 2, Tokyo, 1990, pl. 108; and one from the Lauritzen collection in the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, Stockholm, is included in L. Reidemeister, Ming-Porzellane in schwedischen Sammlungen, Berlin, Leipzig, 1935, pl. 38, a very similar box was sold at Christie’s London, 5th July 1976, lot 46
