A Qingbai petal lobed bowl, Southern Song Dynasty. Estimate £5,000 – 8,000 (€6,300 – 10,000). Photo Bonhams.

Finely potted with flaring sides rising from a cylindrical foot, the rim notched to form six lobes, the interior carved with scrolling leafy flowering stems on a finely patterned ground, the glaze of good pale blue tone pooling to a darker colour in the recesses, the base unglazed and partly burnt from the firing, fitted box. 19cm (7.1/2in) diam.
