each figure well-modeled, standing attentively, hands raised by the waist as if holding reins, the faces sensitively rendered both benign, one with a slight smile, the upswept hair secured beneath bound caps, the long simple robes covered overall in a lustrous amber glaze, the tall boots cold-painted black (2). The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd., thermoluminescence test no. C199t18 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
